Your marina can be notified if there is an emergency!
Our sensors are part of a comprehensive platform which includes marinas, harbors and ports. This platform is designed based on a very simple principle; the safety-related incidents happen predominately while you are away from your boat and your boat is stored in the marina. Those incidents usually required immediate attention and may even in some cases have an impact on the safety of other boats in the marina. The primary objective of the sensors is to inform you as the boat owner, but it is sometimes even more important to inform your home marina/harbor/port which can provide you the necessary assistance.
As you may assume, this scenario requires an precise and trained coordination with the marina staff. Whomever might be in charge from the marina side when an incident happens must be prepared, available and ready to react to protect you valuable asset.
What can you expect from your Marina Link provider?
All partners in our Marina Link network are certified by our surveyors before the they can offer their services on the market. During the process of the assessment the Marina Link Partner must prove that he is capable of providing at least an following service:
A certified marina must provide at least one human operator available 24/7 at emergency mobile phone line capable of receiving voice call, SMS and email messages in english language.
Additional, a certified marina can offer other services like boat inspection following up an alarm from the sensors or battery charging services based on the measurements from the Smart Battery sensors.
How do I connect to a Marina Link partner?
All our partners receive a unique PIN as part of the assessment procedure. You can use that PIN in the mobile application to connect the the marina. Simply tap on the Marina Link tile on the home screen (Dashboard) and enter the PIN provided by the marina.
firstly, tap on the tile
then enter the PIN provided by the marina
Once connected, you will see the details of your Marina Link provider and the service which you can expect from them
Which alerts are forwarded to my provider?
We differentiate two different types of alerts: critical alerts and warnings. Only the critical alerts are immediately forwarded to your Marina Link provider, not the warnings.
Please note: only the critical alerts are forwarded to your Marina Link provider!
Upon receiving critical alerts or observing, for example, High Water detected, the marina staff can take the proper action to preserve the assets that are in their care.
What happens when I am on board and sailing?
The alerts will not be forwarded to your marina while you are away from your marina and sailing. In order to detect whether your are sailing or not, we are using a sophisticated technique called triangulation, which can detect your location of your vessel in a range of 30-50km.
